Il BARDINE - available for holiday rental and reluctantly for sale

Il Bardine sits on an outcrop in the valley with the river Bardine flowing around its base. Once a marquis's castle owned by the Malispini (one of Italy's big five families) it was an important house with extensive lands.

The house is at the end of small hamlet. The road drops down to Il Bardine and stops. Mule tracks go on down to the river and around the barn and down to the old mill. The river sweeps around the base creating beautiful places to swim and walk.

This is what you see as you arrive: the front of the house with steps leading up to the Chestnut room, the front door, the utility room door and the entrance to the tower rooms with a small terrace in front.

This is the view from the tower kitchen about 6am as the mist lifts in the valley, with the Apuane mountains in the distance and the sounds of the river drifting up from below.

The side of the main house has cantinas (cellars) at ground level and accommodation in the rooms above.

The tower rooms have one bedroom with a comfortable bed. There are three more bedrooms in the main house.
